Blogs

Just to mix things up i decided to post the links to some of my favorite blogs. When i am not writing my own entries, I read my friends online journals....

1. Sam Griffin- the inspiration for starting a blog. We went to college together and had way too much fun passing notes back in forth in Geology class. Now we just gossip through the internet. He's in NYC, where he is taking complete advantage of living in the gay capital of the world. Do not read if you are easily offended but do read with the knowledge that his parents are also seeing every scandalous word. Too funny and SO inappropriate, i love it, i love him.

2. Emma Haywood- My best friend was planning on playing basketball overseas like me but a knee injury and subsequent surgeries slowed her down. She decided she wants to walk when she is older so wisely chose to take a job teaching English in Spain. She writes about a lot of the same things I experienced, homesickness, language barriers, the challenges of living overseas. Its super interesting to hear someone else going through some of the same difficulties and triumphs and notice through her writing how she is growing and changing from the experience. In may we are going to meet up in Barcelona and enjoy europe together.

3. Tony Wirt- a sports information director at the university of iowa, we became friends through friends while i was in college. We keep in touch through email or phone calls when i am in the states, consisting of smart ass jokes and witty bantar with occasional updates of our lives (but i mean really who cares right?) And of course we talk as much shit as possible when our respective teams play each other. Yes, he is a hawkeye fan but he's a liberal who hates Bush so I can at least talk to him like a human. We forgive him. What does he have to write about living in Iowa City, Iowa? Sometimes I don't even know. He's completely random and always being sarcastic even if you don't know it. He's hilarious.
